The Mayors' Council of Segarra has approved a formal declaration demanding the Spanish Government take immediate action to repair the A-2 highway between Cervera and la Panadella.

Representatives from nineteen municipalities met at the Segarra County Council to express their outrage over the road's condition. They are calling for the immediate release of 13.28 million euros in planned investments to address severe pavement degradation that has caused numerous vehicle breakdowns.

"Only patches have been applied, and we have reached a point where it is no longer sustainable. This puts the safety of our residents at risk."

Ramon Augé · President of the Segarra County Council
The right lane of the A-2 remains closed near Ribera d'Ondara as a safety precaution. While a 3 million euro emergency repair is scheduled for the coming days, local leaders insist that only the full renovation planned for March will resolve the structural issues affecting the region's competitiveness.
