An alert was sent to the mobile phones of affected residents, asking them to close doors, windows, and ventilation systems as a preventive measure while emergency services work to contain the flames. Rural Agents are investigating the causes of the fire.
Initially, the road closure on the A-2 highway between Jorba and Cervera was reported in both directions, but traffic circulation has now been restored following instructions from the Mossos d’Esquadra.
Firefighters received the alert for the fire, which is burning unharvested cereal fields in Talavera, at 6:22 PM. The firefighting deployment has been significantly expanded, including forty-six ground crews, thirteen aerial vehicles, and 206 personnel. Heavy machinery is being used on the left flank and the fire's tail, while water drops are being made on the right flank and head due to the sea breeze wind.
In situations of forest fires near inhabited areas, the Interior department recommends staying indoors, closing all external openings, and not leaving until authorities indicate it is safe, provided there is no evacuation order.
