The incident occurred at 4:30 PM near Sant Martí de la Morana, a locality within Torrefeta. For reasons still under investigation, two cars collided head-on. Both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles. One of them died at the scene, while the other sustained serious injuries.

Four patrols from the Mossos d'Esquadra, twelve units from the Fire Department, and a helicopter and ambulances from the Emergency Medical System (SEM) responded to the scene. The injured driver was airlifted to Vall d'Hebron hospital in Barcelona.

The L-310 road was closed to traffic for over three hours. Following the impact, a small fire broke out on the roadside.

With this fatality, seven people have now lost their lives in traffic accidents in the Lleida region this year. This figure is two fewer than in the same period last year.
