The fair, held at the Colomar field, aimed to reclaim the figure of Sant Galderic, the patron saint of Catalan farmers. The day began at 9:30 AM with the first Sant Galderic Race, which attracted 66 runners and walkers. The 10-kilometer circular race marked the start of a morning dedicated to sport and popular participation.
The top three finishers in each category received a porró (traditional Catalan flask) of varying sizes as a trophy. The race also recognized the oldest participant (born in 1955) and the youngest (born in 2020).
Concurrently, at 11:30 AM, a free workshop on making lemon liqueur took place, with about fifteen participants who could take their homemade liqueur home. At midday, the cobla band from Bellpuig provided music for the event.
Adverse weather conditions prevented the planned outdoor lunch, so residents gathered in the dance hall to continue enjoying a day of fellowship.
The fifth Sant Galderic Fair has served to highlight Catalan peasant traditions and consolidate this gathering as an opportunity to bring the community together and promote cultural and popular activities.
