The Corbins Town Council, led by Mayor Jordi Verdú, has publicly denounced Endesa for the lack of investment that caused power cuts during the recent Christmas holidays in the Segrià municipality.

The Corbins council attributes the continuous failures and lack of supply during the Christmas holidays to the "neglect" of the Endesa company in carrying out necessary investments in the electrical network. This situation affected key moments, such as the visit of the royal page to the church, which was left in the dark.
Mayor Jordi Verdú pointed out that an incident in a private home was enough to cause power cuts throughout an entire street due to "lack of planning and prevention." Furthermore, he highlighted that throughout 2025, other incidents have been recorded that have worsened the service, causing voltage oscillations that affected household appliances.

"This is a sign of the grievance suffered by the rural world compared to large capitals regarding investments and the repair of continuous power failures."

Given this situation, the council has invested 10,000 euros to replace and improve different transformers in the municipality and has called on nearby towns to create a common front. For its part, Endesa sources indicated that they did not detect incidents during the holidays and attributed them to problems in private installations, although they will contact the council soon.
