Major agricultural unions in Catalonia have detailed their strategic goals for the upcoming elections on February 27, highlighting the challenges of market speculation and wildlife management.

Raquel Serrat, national coordinator of Unió de Pagesos, emphasized the need to protect small and medium-sized farms. She warned about the pressures of land and water speculation that threaten the traditional Catalan farming model.
The JARC organization, led by Joan Carles Massot, is focusing its campaign on professional farmers. Massot argues that public funding should be reserved for those who derive more than 50% of their income from agricultural activities.

"We defend the eradication of wild and game fauna that ruins the work of farmers and ranchers."

Finally, Asaja Catalonia and its president Pere Roqué are campaigning against the EU-Mercosur agreement and calling for stricter control of wild animals, such as wild boars and rabbits, which cause significant damage to crops.
