The city of Lleida launched the 30th edition of Animac, the International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia, this Monday, with school sessions expected to attract 11,000 students.

Until February 20, students from 80 educational centers will attend 13 screenings at La Llotja and CaixaForum Lleida. The program features a selection of short and feature films tailored for different age groups, from primary to secondary school.

"It is essential to train boys and girls also in the taste for cinema and animation cinema."

Pilar Bosch · Culture Councilor of Lleida City Council
This year's theme, Things Change, explores social and technological transformations. The festival addresses contemporary issues such as artificial intelligence in creative fields, feminism, and the future of society.
The main festival events will take place from February 19 to 22, 2026. Organized by Lleida City Council, the exhibition is supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Ministry of Culture.
