The Club Futbol Pardinyes from Lleida has accepted Òmnium Cultural's challenge to encourage the use of Catalan among its young players for one month, both in training and in changing rooms.

The initiative, promoted by Òmnium Cultural in Lleida, aims to increase the presence of the Catalan language in the sports field. For thirty days, the young footballers of CF Pardinyes will strive to communicate in Catalan, a practice that has already been well received by the coaching staff and the players themselves.

"There are many young people in sports. There is also a large newcomer population. It is a very important place for socialization, where neighborhood and community are built, and doing it in Catalan is truly integrating."

From Club Futbol Pardinyes, an entity rooted in the Pardinyes neighborhood of Lleida, with a long tradition of welcoming newcomers, the proposal is also viewed positively. They believe that the use of Catalan can be a key tool for integration and social cohesion.

"Here we hear all kinds of languages. We understand that the use of Catalan must be a tool for integration and cohesion."

The initiative has been naturally embraced by the players. In fact, in some teams, such as the female youth team, Catalan is already the usual language, facilitating adaptation to the challenge. Òmnium plans to extend this proposal to other sports disciplines in the future. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a master class with professional players, taught entirely in Catalan.
