The Diocese of Lleida has identified a summer camp house in Vilaller as the first property to be studied for social housing under a new regional agreement.

Following the recent pact between the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Tarraconense Episcopal Conference, various dioceses have begun identifying assets. The Lleida authorities reported this Tuesday that the government must now determine the building's potential uses.
While Solsona has already submitted a list of available lands and buildings, the Diocese of Urgell remains in the study phase. The project aims to address housing needs for vulnerable groups without changing the ownership of the Catholic Church properties.
Currently, organizations like Caritas and Sant Joan de Déu manage numerous apartments in Lleida. A joint working group with members from the Department of Territory and Justice will meet twice a year to oversee the implementation of this social initiative.
