Representatives from education unions occupied the Education headquarters in Lleida as a preliminary action to a series of strikes extending until early June, criticizing the Catalan Government's management.

This action, which took place yesterday, was led by USTEC-STEs, Professors de Secundària, CGT, and Intersindical, who have called for new stoppages until the end of the academic year. The protest expresses their rejection of the agreement signed between the Catalan Government and the UGT and CCOO unions.
The mobilization marks the beginning of a marathon of strikes that will start next week and last until early June, affecting both the Catalan and territorial levels. Strikes in Lleida are scheduled for May 15 and June 4, while across Catalonia they will be on May 12, May 27, and June 5.

"In the first strike called on February 11, we submitted a document with our demands, and the department continues to say that we will earn 30% more, when in reality it would be 3%."

Concurrently, about sixty teachers from the three public schools in Tàrrega gathered yesterday in the Plaça del Carme to show their commitment to the strike cycle.
Furthermore, the CSIF union announced yesterday that it has filed an appeal against the process of awarding provisional teaching positions for the next academic year, arguing that it violates the principles of merit, capacity, and equal opportunities for teachers. Likewise, the association of families of Catalonia (aFFaC) warned about the worsening deficit of public places and accused the Catalan Government of closing lines in I3 and 1st year of ESO.
