The Historic Center Festival has concluded its 17th edition, having filled the streets, squares, and facilities of Lleida with over a hundred cultural, family, gastronomic, and community activities. The initiative, driven by about sixty entities, collectives, businesses, and residents, has established itself as a community, intercultural project open to the entire city.
The mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa, highly praised the event, highlighting its ability to attract audiences and showcase the neighborhood's vitality. "We have confirmed once again that when things happen in the Historic Center, people come," he stated. Larrosa expressed the goal of extending this vitality throughout the year, promoting more economic activity, housing, and community life.
Councilor Roberto Pino emphasized the neighborhood's positive image as a "vibrant, active center, with commerce, culture, entities, and many people in the streets." He stressed that the neighborhood has "a present, but also a great future" and that the initiative changes the perception of the Historic Center, explaining it from a positive perspective.
This edition followed the community and intercultural model of recent years, giving more prominence to entities, incorporating new spaces like the lot on Tallada street, and fostering encounters between the neighborhood and the city. The Fair of Entities on Cavallers street, the gastronomic exhibition Sabors del Món (Flavors of the World), and the Street Lab Violeta were among the most notable activities.
The program was completed with proposals such as the Market of Ideas, the second-hand market of LleidaJove, and activities from FECOLL. The convergence of culture, heritage, interculturality, commerce, and participation claims the Historic Center as a living and dynamic space, reinforcing its projection and building its future.
