Endesa's data shows that nearly 12,500 operations related to Plan Alfa have been carried out in Lleida by the end of July. This figure represents 66.7% of the total actions performed last year, when 18,708 were recorded.
When levels 2, 3, or 4 of Plan Alfa are activated, Endesa modifies the operation of electrical lines passing through affected areas. A key measure is the temporary deactivation of automatic reconnection systems to prevent restoring power without first verifying the cause of the incident.
According to the company, disconnections are typically due to "occasional contacts" caused by vegetation, wind-borne objects, branches, or the presence of birds. Under normal conditions, the line reconnects quickly, but with Plan Alfa, Endesa coordinates inspections of affected sections with the Agents Rurals (Rural Agents).
Depending on the activation level of Plan Alfa, the protocol may require a wait of two to three hours before reconnecting the line. This increase in operations coincides with the summer period, which experiences more days with fire risk.
