Train drivers from Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) are starting a strike this Tuesday, February 24th, which will not disrupt services in the Lleida region.

The strike, organized by the Semaf union, is scheduled for February 24-25 and March 2-4, coinciding with the Mobile World Congress. However, the RL1 and RL2 lines serving Balaguer and la Pobla de Segur will operate normally as the protests are restricted to the Barcelona metropolitan area.

"Safety prevails over any other criteria in the management of the railway service."

Minimum services have been set at 50% for the initial days, increasing to 66% during the peak of the international tech congress. While the CCOO union will join the protests in March citing safety concerns, UGT has declined to participate in the strike action.
