Farmers and livestock breeders across Catalonia are set to vote on February 27 in elections that will determine which organizations represent the sector before the Administration for the next four years.

A total of 21,374 voters are eligible to participate. Lleida remains the strategic heart of the vote, with 9,577 electors representing 45% of the total census. To gain official representation in the Agrarian Table, organizations must secure at least 15% of the votes.
Currently, Unió de Pagesos (UP) and JARC are the only representative bodies. Asaja aims to break the 15% threshold this year, while UPA and the newcomer Assemblea Pagesa are also in the running. Key issues include animal health crises, wildlife damage, and opposition to the EU-Mercosur trade deal.

"We defend the model of small and medium-sized farming rooted in the territory."

Raquel Serrat · National Coordinator of Unió de Pagesos
