The exhibition, located on General Brito street, celebrates the career of Joaquim Ureña exactly one year after his passing. The show focuses on his pictorial work, highlighting 35 watercolors depicting landscapes of Lleida and Almería, where he maintained a second residence.
In addition to the watercolors, the gallery displays an unfinished work the artist was creating at the time of his death, placed on the easel and accompanied by his brushes, palette, and paints. The exhibit also includes photographs of the artist at work and two life-sized figures made from cutouts of his own cardboard, similar to those seen in Plaça Sant Joan or near the Lleida auditorium.
A recommended visit, even if you don't go there to frame anything, or perhaps you do, let's say a piece of optimism or at least resignation amidst so much fog.
This colorful pictorial display is completed with various canvases by other renowned artists such as Perico Pastor, Maite Farreres, and Miguel Ibarbia, offering a visual counterpoint to the winter gloom.
