The energy company Endesa closed 2025 with a marginal 1.5% growth in hydroelectric production across the Lleida region, a figure heavily impacted by a prolonged dry hydrological year.

According to company data, the stagnation is explained by the lack of rainfall, which only began to reverse in late December. Electricity generation remained secondary to ensuring drinking water for households, ecological river flows, and agricultural demands.

"Only when these three needs are met and there are surpluses can electric companies use water to produce energy."
