The Paeria has opened the nomination period for the twelfth edition of the International "City of Lleida" Award, which recognizes contributions to the city's international projection.

Starting tomorrow, August 28th, and running until October 15th, 2026, proposals can be submitted for this distinction. The award is given to individuals and legal entities who have excelled in fields such as academic, scientific, economic, health, technological, social, or cultural, thereby enhancing Lleida's visibility and recognition globally.
The award aims to highlight outstanding careers that have promoted the city internationally, whether through creating opportunities, fostering innovation, disseminating local talent, or consolidating a significant presence on the international stage.
The 2026 call includes two categories. The first is for individuals linked to Lleida (born there, residents, or active in the city) who have contributed to its international projection. The second category is for legal entities, such as institutions, organizations, research groups, associations, or companies based or active in the city, that have made a significant contribution to Lleida's international renown. A single award will be granted per category.
Nominations can be put forward by any person, entity, or institution. They must be accompanied by a curriculum vitae or a brief report on the activities of the proposed individual or organization.
Applications can be submitted electronically through the Lleida City Council's electronic portal or in person at the Municipal Citizen Assistance Office (OMAC).
This award was reinstated last year by the Lleida City Council after a six-year hiatus, with the aim of recognizing local talent. The 2025 edition honored the research group in Malherbology and Plant Ecology from UdL-Agrotecnio. The prize consists of a replica of the "Bronze of Ascoli," symbolizing the granting of Roman citizenship to the Iberian warriors from the lands of Lleida.
