According to the Corporate Impact Report prepared by PwC, the supermarket chain has solidified its role as an economic driver in the region. This contribution includes direct, indirect, and induced employment, highlighting its influence on Lleida's labor market.
Lidl's economic impact in Lleida has increased by 85.1% in the last six years, while employment linked to its activity has grown by 89.3%.
This sustained growth makes Lleida one of the Catalan provinces with the most notable evolution for the company. In employment terms, Lidl's impact currently represents 1.4% of provincial employment, placing it among the provinces with the highest proportional incidence in Catalonia.
Lleida's role is part of a broader growth context for Lidl across Catalonia. At the regional level, the company achieved a total impact of nearly 1.5 billion euros in 2024, equivalent to 0.54% of the Catalan GDP, and helped sustain almost 29,000 jobs.
Furthermore, the province of Lleida is a key component of the Catalan agri-food ecosystem with which Lidl actively collaborates. The company works with 170 local producers in Catalonia, facilitating the international projection of the sector, as nearly 30% of the Catalan products marketed by Lidl are exported to foreign markets.
