The city of Lleida has been designated to host the ceremony for the Generalitat de Catalunya's National Communication Awards in 2027, an event that recognizes excellence in the field of communication.

This decision, announced by the Government, is part of the effort to decentralize the celebration of these awards, which for the second consecutive year are held outside Barcelona. The 2025 edition, whose awardees have recently been announced, will take place on May 19 in Sabadell.
The National Communication Awards were established in 1999 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the first regular radio broadcast in Catalonia. These awards represent the highest recognition for trajectory and innovation in the Catalan communication sector or in the Catalan language.
Among those honored in the 2025 edition are Justo Molinero, the Diari de Sabadell, the 3Cat platform, RAC1, RTVE Catalunya, and Esther Vera. The program Hospital de proximitat and Banc Sabadell have also been recognized.
