The Lleida City Council approved this Monday the extension of the current service and the awarding of the new waste collection contract, which will start on April 23rd.

During an extraordinary plenary session, Lleida officials secured the transition of the city's cleaning services. The temporary extension for Ilnet was supported by PSC, Junts, Vox, and Comú, ensuring no interruption in street cleaning.
The new joint venture formed by Romero Polo and Valoriza will take over the service for the next ten years. The contract is valued at 260 million euros, marking a significant 50% increase in funding compared to the previous agreement.

"The new contract increases the current budget by more than 50%, up to 260 million euros over ten years."
