The pastry and bakery sector in the Lleida region has made a significant effort not to pass on the increased production costs to the final price of Easter 'monas'. Despite the rising cost of products like eggs and electricity bills, prices remain stable compared to 2025, ranging between 35 and 40 euros per kilogram.
“"The price of butter has indeed gone down, but this year we are also very attentive to the rising electricity bill. These are uncertain times."
Sales forecasts for this campaign are optimistic, aiming to reach 185,000 units sold in the demarcation, a figure similar to last year's. Furthermore, there is a growing trend in demand, which is no longer concentrated solely on the Easter weekend but begins days before Holy Week and extends until after Mona Monday.
“"Sales used to be concentrated on the weekend. However, for some time now, we see that demand begins to appear days before Holy Week and extends until after Mona Monday. It is an upward trend."
Regarding flavors, cream 'monas' continue to be the most popular in 2026, closely followed by burnt yolk, and then by candied fruit and butter cream. The most requested size is usually for six to eight people. In relation to chocolate figures, their price, which ranges between 40 and 80 euros depending on the size, is influenced by labor costs, packaging, and energy expenditure, as the price of cocoa tripled last year and its decrease has been minimal.
Among the most demanded chocolate figures, apart from the traditional egg, those inspired by Netflix fictions such as Stranger Things or the K-Pop Warriors, as well as Barça stars, stand out.
