The Lleida City Council approved this Friday a motion rejecting the Torre Salses shopping center project and dismissed the objections presented against the municipal budget.

The plenary session reaffirmed the position of most municipal groups against the Promenade complex. The motion passed with votes from PP, ERC, Junts, and Comú, while the PSC voted against it and Vox abstained. Opposition groups defended local commerce and the Station Plan as a viable alternative.

"Citizens prefer local commerce over large shopping areas."

On the other hand, the municipal government moved forward with the budget after rejecting three individual claims that sought to eliminate funding for civic hubs in Balàfia and Josepines. With this step, the budget will be officially approved within 30 days unless further issues arise.
During the debate, Mayor Fèlix Larrosa defended the legality of his management against ERC's criticism, noting that the Court of Auditors had validated the municipal actions. Additionally, Joan Ramon Castro was officially appointed as the new Junts councilor, replacing Rosa Jové.
