One of the cloisters of the Public Library of Lleida hosted the institutional act of the Diada de la Generalitat yesterday afternoon in the capital of Segrià. The celebration was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Òscar Ordeig, and the Government delegate, Núria Gil, highlighting the importance of the day for the region.
During the event, the institutional message of Sant Jordi from President Salvador Illa was projected, reinforcing the official nature of the commemoration. In addition, the company 4 Contes offered the public a dramatization based on the literary work Joana, by the writer Guillem Viladot, with the aim of highlighting the figure of this author from Agramunt.
This commemoration is part of an active cultural context in the province, which also includes initiatives such as the 'Sant Jordi i les arts' cycle at the IEI, which recently hosted a talk between musician Joan Pagès and cultural manager Antoni Pallès. Likewise, the graphic book Alpicat desaparegut was presented, featuring nearly 200 photographs of the municipality of Segrià throughout the 20th century, and a new Guixanet story in Tàrrega, dedicated to the Mercè festivities, authored by David Gracia and Guerau Frutos, with illustrations by Robert Sambola.
