The Lleida City Council is finishing the repaving of Balmes Avenue this Wednesday, marking the end of a major renovation of the water pipes and road surface in the Zona Alta.

The final works focused on the lanes heading towards Cervantes Square. This follows yesterday's completion of the opposite lanes towards Ricard Viñes, where intersections were leveled to improve accessibility for pedestrians and vehicles.

"With this action, the renovation of pipes and sidewalks in Balmes will be practically finished."

A total of 496 linear meters of old piping were replaced with modern materials. The project, costing 1,280,632.29 euros, was funded by the Diputació de Lleida to improve the city's water supply and sanitation safety.
