The Lleida City Council has announced that pavilion 3 of the Fira de Lleida will once again serve as a summer shelter with one hundred beds for seasonal workers between June 1st and August 31st.

This reception facility has been designed to meet the needs of people traveling to the area to work in the fruit harvest. The space will be complemented by other existing resources, such as the Seasonal Worker Care Center in Caparrella, the shelter in Seròs, several apartments managed by EMAU, and emergency accommodation at the Jericó shelter.
In addition to accommodation, the pavilion will centralize a single office to provide social, labor, and health support. A labor intermediation service will also be launched to facilitate hiring in various sectors, coordinated between the Municipal Employment Institute, the public employment service, and agricultural sector entities.

"The device is deployed with the aim of guaranteeing dignified reception, promoting labor insertion in the agricultural sector, and reducing the number of people sleeping on the streets."
