The city of Lleida will host the upcoming June 10, 2026, the 10th National BusinessAGRO Mujeres Agroprofesionales – MujerAGRO Forum, a benchmark event on equality in rural areas that arrives in Catalonia for the first time. This edition commemorates the tenth anniversary of the project promoted by Siete Agromarketing and focuses on female leadership within the agri-food sector under the slogan "From equality to new agri-food leadership".
Over a decade, the forum has visited cities such as Seville, Toledo, Córdoba, Valencia, Zaragoza, Cáceres, Almería, and Ciudad Real, consolidating itself as a key space for professionals, companies, and institutions committed to equity. The meeting coincides with the International Year of the Woman Farmer promoted by United Nations, which amplifies its international relevance.
Gissèle Falcón de Haro, director of Set Agromàrqueting and the MujerAGRO Project, has highlighted that this edition represents a "turning point," moving from discussing only equality to focusing on how it translates into "real, visible leadership with the capacity to influence" in the sector.
The choice of Lleida as the venue is due to its strategic importance in the Spanish agri-food system, being a significant hub for sweet fruits and extensive crops. The province, within Catalonia, a region with great agri-food capacity, will see the event focus on the role of women in this field.
The event has the institutional support of the Conselleria d’Agricultura, Ramaderia, Pesca i Alimentació of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The minister Òscar Ordeig i Molist has underscored the importance of women as a "strategic pillar" for the future of agri-food systems, stating that "accelerating equality is not a symbolic option, but an essential condition" for food security and sustainability.
The event will feature the participation of high-level institutional figures, such as Begoña García Bernal, Secretary of State for Agriculture and Food, and Cristina Massot Berna, Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture of the Generalitat. The keynote speech will be delivered by Carmen Castro Domínguez, CEO of Kainova, on female leadership and talent management.
Four debate panels will be held to analyze agri-professional talent, the role of women in fruit farming, generational succession, and female representation in decision-making spaces. Prominent voices from organizations such as the Associació Dones del Món Rural, Joves Agricultors i Ramaders de Catalunya (JARC), Unió de Pagesos, and ONU Dones Espanya, among others, will participate.
The forum also receives support from sponsoring companies such as Cooperativa CASI, Certis Belchim, Frutas Montosa, Onubafruit, Sakata, and UNICA, as well as collaborators like the Associació 5 al dia and Fruit Attraction, which reinforce the professional and strategic dimension of the event.
