The Mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa, requested this February that the Generalitat maintain the four Avant train frequencies between Lleida and Barcelona originally added due to recent rail disruptions.

The mayor issued an official statement asking that the services added to mitigate the Rodalies crisis become permanent. According to Larrosa, these trains, providing a total of 581 seats, are essential for the connectivity of the Segrià region with the Catalan capital.

"Maintaining the Avant train frequencies between Lleida, Tarragona, and Barcelona is a golden opportunity to offer new services for citizens and to gain economic and social competitiveness."

The schedules the city council aims to preserve include departures from Lleida at 7:25 AM and 4:25 PM, with return trips from Barcelona at 6:00 AM and 3:05 PM. The mayor thanked the Generalitat and the Spanish Government for their work during the crisis but insisted on long-term solutions.
