The Lleida Museum inaugurated on March 5th the exhibition Instruments de l'ànima. Matèria i esperit a la Catalunya medieval, exploring the connection between material objects and faith.

The collection, which will remain open until June 14th, showcases thirty items including relics, sculptures, metalwork, and parchments. These artifacts served as spiritual bridges between humans and the divine during the Middle Ages in Catalonia, highlighting their symbolic and religious functions.
This project marks the first collaborative effort by four members of the Catalan Art Museum Network (XMAC): the Lleida Museum, the MEV Medieval Art Museum in Vic, the Diocesan Museum of Solsona, and the Girona Art Museum. While using their own collections, the museums synchronized their conceptual and design approaches.
A key highlight is the Mare de Déu dels Fillols, a statue usually kept at the Church of Sant Llorenç. Several pieces in the exhibition have undergone specialized restoration and documentation specifically for this event.
