The Tourism Board of the Diputació de Lleida is participating in Spain Travel Market Europe 2026, held in Pamplona from September 14th to 18th. Organized by Turespaña, the sessions aim to promote Slow Travel, nature tourism, rural destinations, cultural routes, gastronomy, and premium experiences.
Through about twenty one-on-one meetings with European tour operators and agencies, the Board seeks to open new business opportunities in European markets, emphasizing sustainable tourism and the unique gastronomy of Lleida, as well as cultural activities and active tourism.
Following the event, about ten European tour operators from Northern and Central European markets will undertake a familiarization trip to the Lleida region to experience firsthand the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, the charming villages of the Val d’Aran, and the cheese offerings of Alt Urgell.
Turespaña's objective for these events is to facilitate direct contact between approximately 75 reference European tour operators and agencies and nearly 70 companies and tourism promotion entities from various Spanish destinations.
The initiative aims to attract high-spending visitors, increase revenue from tourism activities, and, notably, contribute to de-seasonalizing and de-concentrating visitor flows. In this context, international buyers will gain firsthand knowledge of the offerings from different destinations and can incorporate new tourist proposals into their catalogs, with a special focus on those based on sustainability criteria.
