Key upgrades include the renovation of the water system, where legionella bacteria had been detected, alongside cleaning, painting, reseeding of the grass, and improvements to the irrigation system. These general sanitation works were delayed due to health and safety concerns. Interventions on hot water and drinking water pipes and tanks are now complete, pending tests to confirm the absence of the bacteria.
Additionally, a series of improvements are being made, such as the removal of bulky waste, electrical system checks, and grass reseeding. Sports Councillor Jackson Quiñónez also announced the renewal of stadium signage and the commissioning of a mural on the South Goal facade to commemorate the Camp d’Esports' centenary.
“"We have reached an agreement with the clubs that have requested the use of the facilities, so we will all collaborate to carry out a gradual and sustainable recovery of these installations."
Lleida Mayor, Fèlix Larrosa, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Begoña Iglesias, visited the facilities and emphasized that these actions aim to provide "absolute assurance to users that the facilities are ready to serve not only spectators but also players, which is most important."
The clubs will jointly manage outdoor advertising and interior spaces, including changing rooms and offices. Work will also be carried out at the Camp Annex, expected to be operational for sports practice before the end of the year.
