Teaching staff from the Ponent region blocked the N-240 at the entrance to Lleida this morning, as part of the fourth day of the education sector strike.

The mobilization took place shortly after 07:30, when a group of education professionals gathered near the Montserrat church. The protesters blocked traffic using school furniture, such as tables and chairs, and overturned several containers on the road to prevent vehicles from entering the capital of Segrià.
This action is part of the protest calendar affecting the Ponent, Alt Pirineu, and Aran areas. Tension between the collective and the Department of Education remains high after the last meeting to resolve the labor conflict ended without an agreement, although both parties have agreed to resume talks next Tuesday.
Union representatives have expressed their dissatisfaction with the Catalan government's management, describing the proposals received so far as insufficient. Spokespersons have warned that if an offer meeting the sector's expectations is not presented before the next meeting, pressure measures could be intensified.
