More than 300 individuals are expected to attend an extraordinary operation by the Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) in Lleida on May 16, aiming to reduce the waiting list for practical driving tests.

This initiative, driven by the DGT, is part of the Operational Reinforcement Plan for Exams, designed to increase the number of practical driving tests in the province. The measure includes the temporary assignment of itinerant examiners to meet the growing demand.
According to data provided by driving schools, over 300 candidates will participate in this extraordinary call. An administration spokesperson highlighted the DGT's swift and responsible response to the increased demand, reinforcing human and organizational resources to continue improving public service.

Furthermore, since the beginning of the year, Lleida has continuously had itinerant examiners, along with other complementary measures such as internal reorganization and overtime for examining staff.
The extraordinary operation will be centrally conducted in the city of Lleida and is expected to absorb a significant portion of the accumulated demand in the capital, freeing up resources to reinforce exams in other territorial centers, such as those in La Pobla and La Seu d'Urgell. Currently, approximately 5,000 people are awaiting their practical test. During the first quarter of this year, the DGT in Lleida conducted a total of 3,299 driving tests, and tests related to the validation of foreign licenses have increased by more than 25%.
