The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 17-year-old minor in Lleida for his alleged involvement in the fatal collision of a 35-year-old man riding a scooter in Torrefarrera.

The incident occurred during the Sant Joan festivities, when the minor, who was driving a vehicle without a license, hit a man on a scooter on a path near the N-230, near the Camino de les Conillàs. After the collision, the driver fled the scene.
Local police found the victim, aged 35, on the Camino de les Conillàs, one kilometer from the N-230 highway. Due to the severity of his injuries, the scooter rider died as a result of the accident. The Mossos d'Esquadra launched an investigation to determine the circumstances, suspecting the involvement of another vehicle.
Finally, early Wednesday morning, the Mossos d'Esquadra located and arrested the alleged perpetrator of the hit-and-run in Lleida. The youth will have to appear before the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, accused of crimes including gross negligent homicide, failure to provide assistance, and driving without ever having obtained a license.
With this victim, the number of people killed on Catalan roads this year has reached 65, according to provisional data from the Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT).
