A 64-year-old temporary worker has died at Lleida's Arnau de Vilanova Hospital, after suffering cardiac arrest while working on an agricultural farm in Seròs, in the Segrià region.

The man felt unwell while working in the field, initially being transferred to the Seròs health center and later to the hospital. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) received the alert around midday and suggest that the cause could have been heatstroke.
Labor Inspectorate, the Mossos d'Esquadra, and judicial authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact causes of the incident. The victim resided in Lleida and worked for a company in the Segrià municipality.
This tragic event occurred amidst an intense heatwave affecting the Ponent region, where several municipalities have recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius this week.
