The Government of Catalonia has completed a new 276 kWp solar power plant in Llardecans to power the Segrià Sud irrigation system and reduce energy expenses.

The project involved an investment of 438,984.79 euros, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This facility is the third solar installation for the local irrigation community, which manages over 6,000 hectares across five different municipalities in the Segrià region.
By using renewable energy at the EB-3 pumping station, the community aims to transition towards a more sustainable agricultural model. The water is sourced from the Riba-roja reservoir and distributed through a network of pumping stations and regulation ponds.
