Rodalies lines R13 and R14 connecting Lleida and Tarragona reopen

The recovery of the rail service, which was temporarily replaced by road transport due to construction, will benefit 3,600 daily users.

The Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, announced on Saturday, February 7, the reinstatement of the rail service for Rodalies de Catalunya lines R13 and R14, linking the Camp de Tarragona and Lleida.

The Minister of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition, Sílvia Paneque, confirmed the reopening of the R13 and R14 lines of Rodalies de Catalunya, which had been operating by road transport due to ongoing construction works. This reinstatement is considered a crucial step towards stabilizing the transport system.
The restoration of the R13 line, which connects Barcelona with Lleida via Valls, is expected to benefit approximately 1,200 daily passengers. Meanwhile, the R14 line, covering the route between Barcelona, Reus, and Lleida, will improve mobility for about 2,400 users per day, totaling 3,600 beneficiaries.

Train circulation on these two lines had been affected for weeks due to infrastructure works. R13 users had to take the bus between Sant Vicenç de Calders (Baix Penedès) and Vinaixa (Garrigues), while R14 users used the alternative route between Reus and Vinaixa.
