The Mossos d'Esquadra police force has reported 32 drivers for reckless driving during illegal street races held in industrial estates across Lleida, Segrià, and Pla d'Urgell.

The investigation began in mid-2025 after officers monitored social media platforms where car enthusiasts organized secret gatherings. These events involved dangerous maneuvers, such as parallel racing and drifting, often surrounded by large crowds of spectators.
On November 1st, an operation in Alcarràs led to the identification of a suspected organizer. Those involved face fines of 500 euros and the loss of 6 points from their driving licenses. One individual also faces criminal charges for driving with a revoked license.
Police sources indicate that active monitoring of digital networks continues to prevent new gatherings. So far, the increased police presence has successfully deterred further illegal racing activities in the Ponent region.
