The Mossos d'Esquadra police force has reported 32 individuals for reckless driving following an investigation into illegal car races held in industrial estates across Segrià and Pla d'Urgell.

The investigation was launched in mid-2025 after officers monitored social media groups where car enthusiasts organized nocturnal gatherings. These events featured parallel racing and dangerous maneuvers in front of large crowds, with exact locations often kept secret until the last minute.
On November 1st, police located a gathering in Alcarràs and identified the suspected organizer. In addition to the 32 administrative fines of 500 euros and the loss of 6 license points, one individual faces criminal charges for driving with a revoked license due to a lack of points.
Authorities stated that police pressure has successfully deterred further major gatherings in the Ponent region, although active monitoring of social media profiles continues to prevent future illegal events.
