The Servei Català de Trànsit (SCT), along with the Mossos d’Esquadra and Local Police forces, started an intensive surveillance campaign yesterday, January 20, which will last until next Sunday, January 25. The main objective is to “guarantee and increase road safety in collective travel.”
To guarantee and increase road safety in collective travel carried out both in school and minor transport and for the rest of the passengers.
During these checks, officers focus on the administrative conditions of the service, the state of the vehicles, and passive safety systems, such as seat belts. Compliance with fixed routes and authorized stops is also verified. Regarding the vehicles, checks include age, technical specifications, valid inspection certificates, and possession of the school transport seal.
In the city of Lleida, the Guàrdia Urbana carried out 18 controls in key areas such as La Caparrella, Raimat district, Corbins road, and Pla de Monsó district. The previous campaign, conducted in January 2025, resulted in sanctions for 247 vehicles, while the one held in June added 402 further sanctions.
