Jordi López's team saw their chances of staying in the division drastically reduced after failing to secure points in a crucial match. Despite a promising start where the Lleida players showed confidence, Alcoyano sealed the match within a ten-minute spell. After a double visiting chance saved by Marc Arnau, Tiko Iniesta opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, and two minutes later, Llinares extended the lead to 0-2.
