The second edition of the forum will focus on innovation and transformation within the agri-food sector, with an expected 95% employment rate and over 70 presentations. The event aims to be a reference space for connecting companies, professionals, research centers, and institutions within the agri-food ecosystem.
The presentation of the new developments took place at the Joan Oró Auditorium of the Parc Agrobiotech de Lleida, with the participation of Fèlix Larrosa, Mayor of Lleida; Joan Talarn, President of the Provincial Council of Lleida; Núria Gil, Territorial Delegate of the Generalitat Government in Lleida; Pompili Roiger, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Lleida, and Eduard Martín, Director of Fira de Lleida.
Fèlix Larrosa highlighted that the forum will be a European debate center on innovation and technology applied to the primary sector, with the participation of 21 foreign delegations and the hosting of the Consular Meeting. He emphasized Lleida's role as an economic engine for Catalonia thanks to the agri-food sector.
Joan Talarn underscored Lleida's potential as a hub for the bioeconomy and economic transformation in Southern Europe, aiming to convert generated knowledge into wealth.
Núria Gil pointed out the importance of agri-food in the face of climate and resource challenges, stating that the forum will be a key space for anticipation, knowledge, and technological innovation.
Pompili Roiger described the forum as a space to "sow future, ideas, technology, and alliances," where the field, farm, industry, and technology converge.
Eduard Martín explained that the forum aims to consolidate itself as a meeting point to boost the agri-food ecosystem, facilitating knowledge transfer and collaboration. The attendee registration system has been enhanced to better understand visitor profiles.
Under the slogan "Optimizing production without compromising the planet," the forum will address challenges such as climate variability, water management, rising costs, and the need to optimize resources through technological innovation. The participation of companies, researchers, and experts is expected.
The event will be structured around three strategic areas: agriculture, livestock, and bioeconomy. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, precision agriculture, digitalization, efficient water management, biosecurity, and the circular economy will be discussed.
The event days will include conferences, round tables, and demonstrations. Tuesday, October 27, will focus on efficient production; Wednesday, October 28, on technological transfer; and Thursday, October 29, on the adoption and scalability of innovation.
The Startup Arena, a 1,500 m² space, will be dedicated to emerging companies and innovative projects, serving as a meeting point for startups, established companies, research centers, and investors.
The event's growth reinforces the ambition to position Lleida as a strategic hub for agri-biotechnological innovation in Southern Europe, leveraging the importance of the agri-food sector in the region and the presence of knowledge centers.
