The Catalan Institute of Finance (ICF) has provided 3.3 million euros to the El Balcó de Lleida owners' community to carry out a comprehensive energy upgrade on a 45-year-old residential building in Lleida.

The total investment of 3.3 million euros will be allocated to integral improvements affecting the 119 homes in the property, located at 48 Doctor Combelles Street. These works, which started on January 20, 2026, aim for a drastic reduction in annual energy consumption, estimated at 1,300 MWh.
Planned actions include the installation of photovoltaic panels and a more efficient aerothermal system for heating and hot water. Additionally, new external thermal insulation (SATE) will be applied to the facade, optimizing temperature retention in winter and preventing heat entry in summer. Window replacements and pipe renewals are also included.

"The ICF is not only alongside the Catalan business and social fabric, but it is also there for owners' communities to promote energy improvement projects like this one, which benefit the domestic economy and contribute to moving towards a more sustainable world."

The financing was structured through two operations: an ICF EcoVerda InvestEU loan of 1 million euros and an advance of 2.3 million corresponding to a subsidy from the Catalan Housing Agency (AHC).
The ICF EcoVerda InvestEU loans are guaranteed by the European Investment Fund (FEI), supported by the European Union's InvestEU program. This facility is designed to improve access to favorable financing conditions for sustainable investments in Catalonia, such as energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
