The 16 ski resorts in the Catalan Pyrenees sold 435,000 ski passes during the Christmas and Epiphany campaign, marking the best season in recent years.

The results, confirmed by the tourism boards of the Lleida and Girona provincial councils, highlight that the excellent snow conditions were the main driving force. Accommodations near the slopes reported near-full occupancy, especially during the New Year's Eve holiday period.
The Lleida region was the main focus, with over 285,000 passes sold across its eleven snow complexes. Of these, 190,000 were sold by Baqueira Beret. Regarding the Eastern Pyrenees, the five Girona resorts received about 150,000 users, mostly concentrated in the Alp 2500 domain (Masella and La Molina).

"The 275,000 ski passes sold during the 2010 campaign, which was the highest figure until now in the region, have been surpassed."

Juan Antonio Serrano · Vice President of the Lleida Provincial Tourism Board
The average occupancy between December 25 and January 6 was 71% across hotels, campsites, and rural tourism. The resorts managed by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC) accounted for over 195,000 users, with La Molina (73,000), Boí Taüll (32,200), and Port Ainé (27,000) being the most prominent.
The president of the Lleida Hotel Federation, Josep Castellarnau, confirmed the satisfaction, noting that snow coverage across the entire Pyrenees helped distribute tourists and prevent overcrowding. These results reinforce the view of skiing as an “engine for the mountain regions” during the winter.
