The coach, who arrived in the capital of Segrià in 2021, had a contract until the end of next season. However, the board of Hiopos Lleida has reaffirmed its confidence in Encuentra, proposing this extension which has now been finalized and will be officially announced in the coming hours.

Since his arrival from CB Pardinyes, Gerard Encuentra has instilled a distinctive character in Força Lleida, based on solid defense and attractive play. Under his leadership, the team has played in the play-offs in all three seasons in LEB Oro, reaching two Final Fours. The most recent, in 2024, culminated in the historic promotion to the ACB League, a category where Lleida had not competed for 19 years.
