Recent institutional activity in the Lleida region has focused on improving key infrastructure and recovering historical heritage during the spring and summer of 2025.

The Railway Infrastructure Administrator (ADIF), attached to the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, announced on July 30, 2025 an investment of 9.5 million euros to expand the tracks in Juneda and Raimat, aiming to boost freight transport in the area.
In the urban planning sphere, the Lleida Territorial Urban Planning Commission gave the green light on May 7 to the modification of the General Urban Planning Plan to promote the expansion of the Segre Industrial Park, adding a new 55-hectare sector.
In parallel, the Government of the Generalitat initiated talks with the Ministry of Transport on May 7, 2025 to request an increase in the frequencies and seats of Avant trains connecting Lleida and Barcelona, seeking to improve high-speed connectivity.
Regarding heritage, the Pou de Gel d’Alcarràs (Ice Well), a 17th-century construction discovered fortuitously, was restored and opened to the public on April 26. Likewise, the Soses Town Council finalized on April 17 a new phase of restoration of the escarpment wall of the moat of the Iberian settlement of Gebut.
