Flu incidence in the health regions of Lleida and Alt Pirineu i Aran has shown a notable improvement, settling at a very high transmission level after leaving the very high epidemic level. In the Lleida plain, cases diagnosed in primary care fell by 28.2%, dropping from 361 to 259 per 100,000 inhabitants.
In absolute terms, the Lleida demarcation registered 1,196 cases during the analyzed week, a reduction of 26.7% compared to the 1,633 of the previous week. In the Pirineu, the drop was 17.7%, with 265 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to SIVIC data.
Flu incidence in Catalonia remains above the moderate transmission level, with 248 cases per 100,000 inhabitants across the territory.
This downward trend is reflected across Catalonia, after the peak of infections was reached in mid-December, with an incidence of 759, much higher and earlier than in previous years. Currently, Flu A (subtype A(H3N2) variant K) is the predominant virus (39% of samples), followed by rhinovirus (16%) and RSV (10%).
