Larrosa proposes reinventing Turó de la Seu Vella as a major live arts venue for 2026

Lleida Mayor Fèlix Larrosa presented on January 14, 2026, the proposal to transform the Turó de la Seu Vella into a central space for live arts, strengthening the city's cultural commitment.

During the presentation of Lleida's cultural program for the year 2026, Mayor Fèlix Larrosa reiterated that culture is an absolute priority for the municipal government. This commitment is reflected in a budget of 5.8 million euros dedicated to the sector.

Reinventing historical spaces like the Turó de la Seu Vella as a major live arts stage in Lleida.

This initiative is part of the city's overall strategy to re-boost the candidacy of the Turó de la Seu Vella for Unesco World Heritage status, aiming to provide the space with a dynamic new cultural use.
In addition to the main investment, the council has planned other important rehabilitation initiatives, such as the restoration of the Camps Elisis chalet (with one million euros), the Gardeny library and archive (three million), and the former Convent de Santa Teresa, the latter included within the Comprehensive Plan for the Historic Center.
