The Lleida City Council, through Councillor Begoña Iglesias, will carry out a comprehensive reform of the Rambla d'Aragó flowerbeds, inaugurated in 2023, due to their poor adaptation to the environment.

The Lleida City Council (Paeria de Lleida) has announced a comprehensive intervention on the flowerbeds of Rambla d’Aragó, a central city axis, aiming to improve the state of the green space. This decision comes less than three years after the current flowerbeds were inaugurated, specifically in the spring of 2023.

"the current planting has not adapted well to the space, which is perceived as untidy and in poor condition"

Begoña Iglesias · First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Urban Agenda
First Deputy Mayor, Begoña Iglesias, visited the area this Friday alongside municipal technicians and representatives from the gardening concessionaire company, Urbaser, to plan the intervention. The goal is for the reform to be fully completed during May.
The new project will focus on selecting plant species that better adapt to the climatic conditions of Lleida. Furthermore, protective measures will be installed to prevent the flowerbeds from being trampled or accessed by pets, covering the area from Ramon y Cajal street to the vicinity of the fountain in Plaça Catalunya.
