The Lleida City Council has opened a call for a new line of aid to promote economic activity in the Historic Center of Lleida. The subsidy, part of the Integral Plan for the Historic Center, has an initial budget of €80,000, which will be extended to €240,000 over three years. The aim is to revitalize commerce and professional services in the neighborhood.
The Councilor for City Promotion, Pilar Bosch, highlighted this as the "most impactful" subsidy convened in this area. Unlike other calls, it can cover up to 70% of the eligible costs through advance payment, with a maximum of €10,000 in direct aid. The grants are intended for the opening of new commercial establishments, restaurants, professional activities, and services, located on street level, mezzanines, or upper floors.
"With this call, the Paeria continues to work to strengthen local commerce, create economic activity, and enhance the attractiveness of the streets," stated Bosch. She emphasized that the creation of activity and employment in the neighborhood will be accompanied by a regeneration of the Historic Center in urban planning, environmental sustainability, social welfare, and community action, as outlined in the plan.
Beneficiaries can be new commercial, professional, or service activities that have been established or wish to establish themselves in the Historic Center, as well as existing activities that continue through a transfer. Excluded activities include gambling establishments, music bars, nightclubs, karaoke, or the exclusive sale of mobile phone accessories. Each applicant can submit a maximum of two applications, with a minimum investment of €2,000 (excluding VAT).
Furthermore, the Lleida City Council has received 59 applications for the L9.2 aid line, which allocates €180,000 to the opening and rehabilitation of commercial, restaurant, and service establishments in various neighborhoods, including the Historic Center. Of these, 54 are under evaluation, with 22 applications for the Historic Center. Although incompatible, it is recommended to apply for both aid lines.
The deadline to submit applications for the new aid line will end when the credit is exhausted or, at the latest, by November 10. Applications must be submitted through the Paeria's electronic headquarters.
