Ski resorts in the Lleida Pyrenees closed the Christmas campaign with a record of over 285.000 ski passes sold, surpassing the previous maximum figure registered in 2010.

Alpine and Nordic ski resorts in the Lleida region have concluded the Christmas, New Year's, and Epiphany tourism campaign with a record figure of over 285,000 ski passes sold. This data exceeds the 275,000 passes sold during the 2010 campaign, which until now held the historical maximum, according to the Lleida Provincial Council Tourism Board.

"The average occupancy in hotels, bungalows, and rural tourism houses was 71% between December 25 and this Tuesday."

Juan Antonio Serrano · Vice President of the Lleida Provincial Council Tourism Board
Juan Antonio Serrano, Vice President of the Lleida Provincial Council Tourism Board, highlighted that the success was due to the extensive skiable offer and the quality of the snow. The 11 resorts in the area offered almost 400 kilometers of slopes. Tourist occupancy neared full capacity for New Year's Eve in the Pyrenees, while the Terres de Lleida region saw rates fluctuating between 50% and 80%.
Regarding individual data, the Aran Valley resort of Baqueira Beret registered around 190,000 skiers between December 24 and January 6. The Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC) resorts, grouped under the Pirineus365 brand, totaled over 195,000 visitors. Notable attendance figures include Boí (over 32,200), Port Ainé (over 27,000), and Espot Esquí (over 19,200).

"Clients were able to enjoy the snow and the landscape, and increasingly, overnight stays are for fewer days."

Josep Castellarnau · President of the Lleida Hotel Federation
